So on a seemingly normal Friday while working around the house, I get a call from Evan's school. I missed the call actually and when I checked my message I could tell by the sound of the director's voice that something was wrong. When we finally talked they informed me that Evan had had an accident on the playground and was going to need stitches. I met up with them at the doctors office. Evan was so brave and calm. He was not upset at all when I got there and was actually worried about his teacher because he knew she was shaken up. So I have always wondered, "how do you know if a cut actually needs stitches or not?" Well let me just tell you, there was no doubt he needed stitches. Now I know another good reason why I became a teacher and not a nurse. I could not handle even watching what they were having to do!! (I am sure it did not help that they were doing it on my baby!) The fixed him up with 4 stitches and he got a lollipop on the way out the door. It has been a few weeks now, the stitches are out and it is healing nicely. Thank the Lord it was on his eyebrow so you should not be able to see it at all before too long. If you have a sensitive stomach, you may want to skip the second picture :)!
Now on to the other first. Evan lost his first tooth!! It started becoming loose a few weeks before Christmas. He of course had been messing with it and started asking me to tie a string around it pull it. Well we tried that several times but the string just kept coming off. Those bottom front teeth are so little! So I asked him if he wanted me to try and just grab it and pull it out. To my suprise, he said sure! All it took was one hard jerk and it was out. He was so proud! He could not believe how little his tooth looked when it was out of his mouth. Now he is excited because he says, " I can see my grown-up tooth starting to come though!" Yet another milestone that reminds Mommy that there is nothing baby about him anymore.

So glad he didn't get hurt! I would have had a hard time with that one! Such a brave boy. And losing a tooth. Getting so big so fast!
